Richard Rankin | Chief Executive Officer
Richard Rankin was named Chief Executive Officer of ACH Food Companies, Inc. in October 2008. He sets and oversees the execution of the company's strategy by focusing on the grocery sector and identifying opportunities for both organic and growth acquisitions. Rankin joined ABF in 1994.

Richard Rankin was named Chief Executive Officer of ACH Food Companies, Inc. in October 2008. He directs ACH in refining the strategy of the company by focusing on the grocery sector and identifying opportunities for both organic and growth acquisitions. Rankin joined ABF in 1994. 

Prior to becoming CEO of ACH, he was Director of Business Development at ABF where he managed the strategy and plan development. He also had responsibility for strategic assessment of all proposed acquisitions.

Rankin first joined ABF as Commercial Director for British Sugar UK. He then became Managing Director for ABF’s ABR division where he was responsible for overall profitability. His next career move was to Business Development Director for ABF’s British Sugar Division where he was responsible for the development of new business streams. 

Prior to joining ABF, Rankin was a Regional Sales Manager for Maytag International, where he was responsible for sales and distribution management. Before Maytag, Rankin held roles of increasing responsibility with Unilever plc. 

Rankin has a Bachelor’s Degree from University College in London.

Sarah Blankenship, SPHR | Vice President, Human Resources
Sarah Blankenship is Vice President, Human Resources for ACH Food Companies, Inc. She is responsible for implementing the human talent and leadership strategy for the organization, and her priorities include the recruitment, development and retention of the talent required to meet business objectives in a performance driven culture.

Blankenship joined ACH in September 1997 and has progressed through human resources leadership roles, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, labor relations, change management, employee relations, recruiting, benefits and executive compensation.  

Prior to joining ACH, Blankenship held human resources positions with Target Stores and Newell-Rubbermaid.

She has a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master’s in Organizational Communication from Murray State University. She is active in the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM).

Joe Landfair, Vice President of Sales
Joe Landfair is Vice President of Sales for ACH Food Companies, Inc. He is responsible for leading the overall sales organization in the U.S. His responsibilities include Customer Development, Channel Strategy, Customer Marketing and Service for all Retail, Foodservice and Private Label businesses.

Joe Landfair is Vice President of Sales for ACH Food Companies, Inc.  He is responsible for leading the overall sales organization in the U.S.   His responsibilities include Customer Development, Channel Strategy, Customer Marketing and Service for all Retail, Foodservice and Private Label businesses.

Prior to joining ACH in 2014, he led the sales organization for Barilla America, Inc.   As a member of the Executive Team there, he played a significant role in developing the Barilla brand achieving category leadership in the U.S. and launching geographic expansion of the business into Canada.

He began his career with Proctor & Gamble as a sales representative.  He subsequently held ever increasing roles of responsibility in sales management and customer marketing with E&J Gallo Winery and Cadbury Schweppes.

Joe earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Indiana University and is a retired Captain in the U.S. Army.

George Pastrana | Vice President, Marketing and Innovation
George Pastrana is Vice President, Marketing and Innovation, for ACH Food Companies, Inc. He is responsible for the company’s marketing, product and package development, quality, and consumer affairs functions, as well as the Canadian business. He is also charged with the stewardship of the company’s innovation program. George joined ACH in 2011.

Prior to joining ACH, George was President and General Manager, Americas Region, for SSL International, plc, and spent 5 years with Novartis as Vice President, Marketing – North America, at their CIBA Vision division. There he helped lead a significant turnaround effort in the U.S. of both the contact lens and solutions businesses, launching numerous new product initiatives and driving share growth in the market.

Over the course of his career, George has worked as an engineer and has held increasingly senior level marketing roles at Procter & Gamble, Schering-Plough, S.C. Johnson, internet start-up, Webvan, and Crayola / Hallmark.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.

Carmen Sciackitano | Vice President, General Counsel
Carmen Sciackitano is Vice President, General Counsel for ACH Food Companies, Inc. She joined ACH as its General Counsel in October, 1998, handling all legal matters for ACH. Sciackitano also serves as the Sr. VP General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for ABF North America Corp.

In September, 2005, Sciackitano was promoted to Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of ABF North America Holdings, Inc.  In that role, she assumed responsibility for the legal affairs and management of all ABF subsidiaries in Canada, United States, Mexico, the Caribbean and South America.

Sciackitano is responsible for ensuring the implementation of appropriate compliance and training programs. She provides legal review and counseling on key commercial matters such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, licensing, marketing, intellectual property management for the various subsidiaries.

The ABF Americas Legal Department includes two in-house ABF lawyers and a paralegal in the United States and two in-house ABF lawyers in Argentina and Brazil.

Prior to joining ACH, Sciackitano began her career with United Airlines and worked as a labor lawyer and a trial lawyer. After six years, Sciackitano joined the law department of Kraft Foods, Inc., where she worked for eleven years, overseeing commercial and real estate matters.

Sciackitano holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University and a Doctor of Law degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She is admitted to practice law in Illinois and Tennessee.

Bill Wells | Vice President, Manufacturing and Supply Chain
Bill Wells is currently Vice President of Manufacturing and Supply Chain. His responsibilities include manufacturing operations, planning, logistics, procurement, engineering and corporate health, safety and environment.

Prior to joining ACH, Wells was president of Heartland Fields, LLC, a start-up company manufacturing premium soy-based meat alternatives and snack products.

Wells started his career with Procter & Gamble Co., devoting 23 years to its manufacturing and supply chain operations. His responsibilities included line manufacturing operations as well as being the Global Supply Chain leader for a multi-functional, corporate team that developed and implemented a comprehensive global reporting system.

Wells received a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Community activities include being the current chairman of Memphis Urban Young Life.

Steve Zaruba, Chief Financial Officer
Steve Zaruba is currently Executive Vice President and CFO of ACH Food Companies, Inc. He is responsible for the Finance, Accounting, IT, and Business Development functions at the company. Steve joined ACH in 2010.

Prior to joining ACH, Steve spent several years as Senior Vice President – Operations and Finance working at Compact Industries, a privately held powdered drink mix company. In this role, he helped the company improve profitability, implement lean manufacturing processes, and increase organizational effectiveness.

Steve started his career and spent 22 years at Sara Lee Corporation in a variety of both Corporate and Divisional roles, including CFO of Superior Coffee, and Vice President of Global Financial and Administrative Services.

Steve has a Bachelors degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois – Urbana, and an MBA from The Kellogg Graduate School of Business – Northwestern University.
